Creating 3D models out of a Point Cloud

Most often, the so-called baseline models are drawn from Point Clouds resulting from laser scanning, which are the basis for architects and designers in their further work. In this respect, it should be noted that the model is a generalisation according to the agreed Level of Details (LoD). It is therefore very good if a further user could also use the Point Cloud model to verify critical details, if necessary.

It is also possible to create so called mesh models (surface model, triangle model) from objects with complex geometry, such as medieval vault ceilings. But it must be borne in mind that a mesh model is significantly more data-intensive than the solid model.
